Answer Racing, a manufacturer of off-road clothing and riding equipment, has announced a program to support ATV/UTV safety training courses in Wisconsin and a statewide Trail Ambassador program.
The Wisconsin Trail Ambassador program is a group of volunteers who patrol Wisconsin’s trails and trail systems, conduct safety inspections, and staff the state’s welcome centers. The program has been operating since 2002 and has trained over 1,000 volunteers. Trail ambassadors work closely with cyclists, state and local land managers, and law enforcement.
This summer, ambassadors will encourage youth to register for ATV driver safety training and follow crucial safety practices, both as an ATV rider and as a side-by-side UTV passenger. Ambassadors remind all motorcyclists, youth and parents to wear properly fitting, high-quality helmets and other protective equipment. During the numerous trail chats that ambassadors engage in throughout the riding season, they will give youthful people the chance to win Answer helmets, goggles and gloves in a draw to be held later this year.
“We really appreciate Answer’s support as we encourage young people to take a biker safety course and always wear protective equipment,” said Randy Harden, president of the Wisconsin ATV/UTV Association.
Data from the recently released Economic and Demographic Survey report show that the ATV/UTV industry adds $5.4 billion to Wisconsin’s economy and collectively represents the best form of outdoor recreation in the state. The state has seen rapid growth in ATV/UTV utilize and vehicle registration in recent years and expects this growth to continue.
“This partnership is very rewarding for Answer,” said Brent Ash, Answer brand manager. “This allows us to encourage more young people to take bike safety classes and supports the hard-working volunteer ambassadors who make riding on Wisconsin’s trails even more enjoyable.”
The collaboration starts this month and will continue throughout the summer. Wisconsin Trail Ambassador and Safety Programs will manage the selection and distribution of Answer riding equipment to youth program winners.
