Autopsy shows Wisconsin cougar killed by bowhunter was hearty and well-fed

A necropsy of a cougar shot by a bowhunter in Buffalo County, Wisconsin, in mid-November showed the cat was hearty, well-fed and had gigantic fat reserves, according to a state gigantic carnivore specialist.
“He had been eating for the past day and knew how to make a living,” said Randy Johnson of Rhinelander, a gigantic carnivore specialist with the Department of Natural Resources (DNR).
