Bears sections are considering changes before the game against the Packers

The Green Bay Packers have a bye week and begin preparations for a game against the Chicago Bears, who have lost three straight games and are currently considering substantial changes after Sunday’s 19-3 loss to the New England Patriots.

Bears coach Matt Eberflus didn’t reveal plans Monday, but he said changes were coming on both the coaching and personnel sides.

“There will be changes, adjustments will be made,” Eberflus said on Monday. via NFL.com. “I repeat that I am not going to reveal them now. I’m not at that stage in the process. Monday is a long day in terms of assessing everything, squads, training, what we need to improve in training and how we need to improve communication during the game, during games. match, after the match, before the match.”

The Bears rushed for just 142 yards and made just one field goal in a demoralizing loss to the Patriots at Soldier Field in Week 10. Chicago’s offense only put 69 yards on net and finished 1-for-14 on third down.

Eberflus said the Bears will continue to employ rookie Caleb Williams, who took nine sacks Sunday and has been sacked 18 times during the team’s current three-game losing streak. After throwing four touchdown passes in the win over the Jacksonville Jaguars before the bye, Williams has completed just 50.5 percent of his passes over the last three games without passing a touchdown, and the Bears have scored just 27 points overall.

It’s possible the Bears will make changes to the play-calling situation (first-year offensive coordinator Shane Waldron called the play) or to the lineup when it comes to pass catcher playing time or offensive line alignment. Packers defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley will have to prepare for a novel look or personnel after a desperate offense needs answers.

The Packers say their bye and hunt for a major league title in the 2024 season. Green Bay dropped two home games – against the Minnesota Vikings and Detroit Lions – to start the NFC North schedule. Sunday’s trip to Soldier Field will be the Packers’ game of the season in the road division.

The Packers have won 10 straight games against the Bears and 15 of their last 16. Chicago’s last victory over Green Bay at Soldier Field came in 2018.

The bears are on the ropes. The Packers are now healed and looking to get their offense going in the second half. Can Matt LaFleur’s team deliver a knockout blow to the Bears offense on Sunday in Chicago?
