Over a year ago, Bradley Beal was one of the hottest names on the market. When he eventually landed with the Phoenix Suns, the All-Star shooting guard revealed that the Milwaukee Bucks tried to acquire him in exchange for Khris Middleton.
In a significant moveThe Suns acquired Beal from the Washington Wizards. This deal was a three-team deal that also included the Indiana Pacers. The Suns sent veteran point guard Chris Paul along with Landry Shamet and several draftees to Washington in exchange for Beal.
Beal, a three-time All-Star, was projected to bring a wealth of scoring ability, averaging over 23 points per game throughout his career. His addition to the Suns, along with stars Kevin Durant and Devin Booker, was intended to transform Phoenix into a formidable Western Conference contender.
The deal also reflected a shift in strategy for the Suns as they look to maximize their championship window. Unfortunately, the All-Star trio of Beal, Durant and Booker were knocked out in the first round of the playoffs by Anthony Edwards and the Minnesota Timberwolves a few months ago.
Phoenix Suns’ Bradley Beal reveals the Milwaukee Bucks tried to trade Khris Middleton for him
Beal recently appeared on Run Your Race and discussed a number of topics. During this podcast, the Phoenix Suns All-Star team revealed how the Bucks tried to acquire him in exchange for Khris Middleton, as seen in tweet shared by Basketball on X.
According to Bradley Beal, the Bucks were willing to trade Khris Middleton in a deal that would have sent him to Milwaukee

Beal said Middleton’s player option complicated a potential deal because he would have to agree to it to facilitate a trade with Washington. Ultimately, the Bucks decided to trade Jrue Holiday instead, changing the lineup.
This missed opportunity highlights the animated changes in the NBA and suggests how different player combinations may have impacted a team’s success. The future of the Bucks remains uncertain as the Bucks team adjusts to its current roster for the upcoming season.
