The Wisconsin football staff made another commitment in its 2025 class after adding a cornerback Jahmar Washington.
Washington, a 6-foot-10 cornerback from Illinois, packs quite a punch for a defensive back. The cornerback has been a priority target for the Wisconsin Badgers and will now join the team following his commitment. Washington announced the news during his official visit to Madison this weekend.

The Wisconsin football the staff made another 2025 commitment in the form of a three-star defenseman Jahmar Washington. Washington had offers from Michigan, Indiana and Kansas State, but ultimately booked his lone official visit with the Badgers. The defender announced his commitment to campus with the staff.
Washington is a pretty good candidate due to his sporadic style of aggressive play as a cornerback. The recruit has been described by recruiting analysts as a “brutal” player and plays high-energy football, which Madison’s recruiting staff truly loves.
Washington brings physicality and confidence to a loaded secondary
There is certainly no doubt that Wisconsin has a packed extra room right now, and it will only get bigger as more commitments and signings arrive on campus in the future. While the Badgers have plenty of players at the position, they don’t have another defensive back like Washington on their roster. Washington is known for playing swift and aggressive soccer on the net.
The defensive back is not afraid to take risks or put his feet down to try and play an vital role for his team. The Wisconsin football staff fell in love with both his skills and his style of play on the field. Given his huge frame and tenacity in the game, Washington could certainly be a player who will quickly impress upon entering the lineup.
Wisconsin Badgers football: What’s next for the recruiting staff?
For the Wisconsin football staff, the next priority target on the horizon is a four-star linebacker Hardy Watt. Watts is the man the staff believes will round out the offensive line in the 2025 recruiting class, and that massive man is currently on campus in Madison. The Badgers are pushing tough to land Watts, and it would be hard for the front office to see the recruit potentially committing to another program.
The recruit is currently the highest-ranked player in the state of Massachusetts and is ranked No. 217 nationally.
