Enjoy the flavors of autumn with this delicious recipe for caramel apple jam.

Cooking time 45 minutes

Processing time 10 minutes

  • 6 C apples diced and peeled
  • ½ C water
  • ½ teaspoon butter
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 pack 1 ¾ ounces pectin
  • 3 C sugar
  • 2 C Brown sugar
  • Combine apples, water, butter, cinnamon and nutmeg. Cook and stir over low heat until the apples are cushioned.

  • Mix in the pectin. Bring to a boil over high heat, stirring constantly.

  • Add sugar and return to boil. Boil and stir for 1 minute.

  • Remove from heat. Fill 7 balmy half-liter jars.

  • Place in a can. Bring to a boil. Process 10 minutes.

Serves seven half-liter jars with approximately ten servings per jar.
