In 2010, there were huge changes in Wisconsin’s deer management strategy. These changes continue to worsen deer hunting throughout Wisconsin, but especially in northern Wisconsin.
The Scott Walker administration’s payment to Dr. James Kroll will be considered the largest waste of money spent on deer management ever made by the state of Wisconsin. Kroll was asked to develop a management plan for white-tailed deer in Wisconsin, although most of his experience has been with deer on the fence in Texas. The number of differences between Wisconsin and Texas would take an entire book.
