Now more than ever it seems prudent (in the interests of hunters, anglers, trappers, and state natural resource agencies) to explain and promote the benefits of consumptive consumption to the non-hunting community (perhaps with an emphasis on suburban areas).
As novel rural residents flee urban areas in search of novel, more desirable places to live, there is an opportunity (and need) to promote awareness that licensing dollars not only benefit game species, but also provide greater and better opportunities for bird watching, hiking hiking, cycling, kayaking and other forms of non-consumptive recreation.
