County Fair Season: There’s something for everyone

The end of June begins the county fair season around Wisconsin. From then until the end of September, somewhere around Wisconsin, it will be a clear day on all but a few days during the summer.

Of course, the Wisconsin State Fair in West Allis, with 1 million visitors annually, is the largest fair in Wisconsin. At some point during the summer, you’ll find a nice county fair nearby.

The local county fair is truly an experience for everyone. With amazing youth and youth programs, anyone can participate and enjoy the assessment and entertainment on offer. Whether it’s eating great food at the fair, watching youth judging and educational shows, or enjoying the entertainment, all participants are sure to have fun. You can also take part in open classes, presenting your own projects and talents.

You’ll find all kinds of variety at the county fair. Animal husbandry, horticulture, arts and crafts, woodworking and food are some of the largest areas covered by the program that everyone can enter. It really is for everyone.

In many districts, open classes and senior classes allow everyone to submit their talents and interests for evaluation and presentation. It’s a great place to learn, improve and share your hobby.

Small children? Fantastic. Trade fairs are also a great place for them. They can get to know most animal species up close. Activities such as lambing, children’s pedal tractor pulls, entertainment zones and carnivals will keep children of all ages entertained.

The local county fair is also a great place for older children to see exhibits and pick up recent hobbies. Leaders, parents and newborn people will be ecstatic to answer questions, find contacts and information for your children to get involved and even find partnerships for newborn people. If your children want to learn more and work with animals, you may not have the resources or facilities to care for them.

I encourage everyone to join in the educational fun at one or three local fairs this summer.
