The Milwaukee Bucks’ last two games have ended in failure, and they have someone assigned to pull them out of the wreckage – and it’s none other than Damian Lillard.
Unfortunately for them, Lillard didn’t hit any. The team lost those two games – the first against the Brooklyn Nets and then against the Portland Trailblazers and missed an opportunity to climb up the Eastern Conference rankings.
Lillard has already admitted that he could have made better decisions in these situations, especially against his former team.
However, he doesn’t think clutch performance is the main issue. It’s his lack of aggressiveness.
He knows the Bucks didn’t sign him hit winning shots solo.
No game comes down to one or two last possessions, which is why the team signs and pays great players. Because in situations like this they expect us to be able to move on, make plays, take shots and have an impact at the end of the game.
I just wasn’t good enough in those last possessions. It’s that basic.
Lillard finished against the Blazers with 16 points, two rebounds, six assists and four steals. However, his decision tardy in the match is questionable as he chose to take a shot from a corner that could have been decisive for Bobby Portis, leading to the loss.
Damian Lillard thinks the Bucks lack focus
Giannis Antetokounmpo recently complained that the Bucks were losing their individual pride.
Lillard is concerned about the lack of discipline he said he has shown in the last two games.
His team suffered a massive loss to the Nets, but was able to come back from the loss and even almost stole the victory.
However, there was a lack of energy in the match against Portland.
Lillard preaches focus to return to the winning path.
You get into a dog fight, now they believe, you know they have a way to do it in a matter of moments, and you end up in the game like that. So I think it’s just a pattern that we’ve had in these games. It’s just, you know, not good enough discipline. It is not good enough to maintain our concentration.
