Hunters in Wisconsin’s Waukesha and Washington counties fared better than many other counties when it came to shooting deer during the 2023 deer season, but the number of antlerless deer taken was down dramatically compared to 2022 and the five-year average (2018-2022).
Deer harvested in both counties were down about 6% from 2022 but were up from the five-year average. Deer harvested in Waukesha County was up 6.1% from the five-year average; in Washington County, it was up 7.5%.
