Deer numbers in Wisconsin continue to grow despite efforts to reduce herds in many areas

It’s not that I’m afraid of deer.
I really like deer. I like to watch them, spot them, and hunt them with a bow and a gun. I like to get excited when I see them. I just don’t like to get excited when I see them flying across the freeway in traffic going 60 miles an hour or more.
To say that deer are common in Wisconsin would be a gross understatement. In many areas of the state, they are profuse and have been for some time. In the northeastern corner of Wisconsin, where I have lived and worked for 50 years, this change has been inexorable.
