A man has been charged with driving under the influence for an eighth time after he fled from police on a motorcycle and then on foot through an Erin Hills golf course Saturday, the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office said.
At about 3:10 p.m. Saturday, the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office attempted to stop a speeding motorcycle on Highway O in the town of Ashippun. A compact pursuit led to the driver abandoning the motorcycle and fleeing on foot across Erin Hills Golf Course, Sheriff Dale Schmidt said in a statement.
The driver, a 44-year-old man from rural Hartford, was caught in Erin Hills and arrested on suspicion of fleeing and evading an officer and an eighth count of driving under the influence, Schmidt said.
