The policy was recommended by the team’s search committee and was selected by a unanimous vote of the board. He will become the franchise’s eleventh general manager.

From Murphy: “Ed has been a tremendous asset throughout his 12 years with the organization and has played a key role in our success. His work on Titletown was particularly impressive. He is highly respected – both in the building and in the NFL. It was a pleasure working with him and I am sure he will be an excellent steward of the organization.”

Politics has been with the Packers since the 2012 season. In 2024, he will begin his 13th season as vice president and general counsel. In 2018, he was promoted to the position of operational director.

From Polityka: “This is absolutely the best job in sports. We are stewards of the most iconic and unique organization in all of professional sports. I’m excited to continue working with so many talented teammates who have ensured the Packers’ continued success on and off the field. We are a team of people and I love being a part of it.

“We will continue to focus tirelessly on building a winning culture that goes beyond the box. The Lombardi Trophy will always be our north star, and ensuring a positive impact on our community will continue to be of the utmost importance in our decision-making. We have the greatest sports fans and we will never take their commitment to the Packers for granted.

Before joining the Packers, Policy previously worked at the executive level in the Arena Football League and the NFL. He was a leader in the development of Titletown, the commercialized area around Lambeau Field.
