During an episode of ESPN’s “Get Up” on Wednesday, former NFL player and current analyst Louis Riddick was asked which NFC quarterback he would choose to build his team around. His answer: Jordan Love.
“Jordan Love … that’s it,” Riddick said. “That’s exactly how Brian Gutekunst, the general manager there at the Packers, looks at it. They’re betting on the future.”
.@LRiddickESPN there’s no doubt which NFC quarterback he’d team up with 👀

Riddick chose Love over other respected NFC quarterbacks like Jalen Hurts, Jared Goff, Matthew Stafford and Brock Purdy. All four have reached the Super Bowl during their careers, but Love’s talent and potential could top them all.
Last season, Love showed remarkable growth in his first year as quarterback, throwing for 4,159 yards and 32 touchdowns in 17 starts while leading Green Bay to a postseason berth and a victory over the Dallas Cowboys in the Wild Card round.
Love’s popularity has skyrocketed as the season has progressed and his numbers have improved. His peers recently ranked him 34th on their list of the 100 best NFL players of 2024.
The Packers clearly agree with Riddick that they want to build their team around Love, which is why they signed him to a four-year, $220 million contract extension, making him the second-highest-paid player in NFL history.
Expectations are certainly high for Love and the Green Bay team heading into the 2024 season, but they still have a lot to prove. The offense is still loaded with teenage talent, a recent coordinator is leading the defense, and a few recent pieces have been added to the mix.
Ultimately, how far this team goes this season may hinge on whether Love can prove he is one of the best players in the NFL.
