Spring turkey hunters are always looking for clues to assist them fill out their tags. Veteran turkey hunter Tony Hudak of Noxen, Pennsylvania, who has harvested gobblers in every state where they can be hunted, offered several of them recently.
I caught it just before I left for Mexico to hunt pearl turkey. Hudak’s success enabled him to complete both the Mexican and World Gobblers Grand Slam, and ultimately the Grand Slam. He became only the fourth hunter in the world to complete the Slam of Slams. He was joyful to share some of his tricks.
