Milwaukee Bucks star Damian Lillard has reacted strongly to the Portland Trail Blazers fan page on Instagram. On Tuesday, the eight-time NBA All-Star slammed the fan page after criticizing the point guard’s recent struggles with the Bucks, even calling the content there “false.”
Instagram user “@blazernationcp” shared a meme expressing his apathy towards Lillard’s troubles, stating that they no longer concern Portland fans. Lillard played for the Blazers from 2012 to 2023 and was their sixth pick in the 2012 NBA Draft.
“I wish him all the best, but he’s not my dad,” the caption read.
Lillard, offended by the meme, responded bluntly to the post.
“Fake a** mfs,” Damian Lillard said.
Damian Lillard was a cornerstone for Portland, leading them to eight playoff appearances. In his 11-year career with the Blazers, he averaged 25.2 points, 4.2 rebounds and 6.7 assists. He was also the 2012 NBA Rookie of the Year and a seven-time All-Star with the franchise. While in Portland, he was also honored as a member of the NBA’s 75th Anniversary team.
Despite Damian Lillard’s current problems, he won the game against the Houston Rockets
After missing three games due to a head injury suffered in the match against the Boston Celtics, Damian Lillard returned to the Milwaukee Bucks lineup on Monday against the Houston Rockets and managed to win 101-100.
“Dame Time” finished with 18 points, although he made only six of his 18 shots from the field and missed all six of his three-point attempts. He also added four defensive rebounds and made 10 assists.
Despite his disappointing stats, the Bucks still counted on Lillard for the game-winner with seconds left on the clock. He secured the victory by defeating Dillon Brooks of the Rockets.
In the post-match interview, Damian Lillard talked about his attitude before the decisive moment of the match.
“I saw throughout the match that it was a close fight and I didn’t do well throughout the evening, but I know that in moments like that you have to stay aggressive, you know, not give up. offense,” said the eight-time NBA All-Star.
The star also talked about his struggles.
“Some of my passes went in and out, threes didn’t go in, but you had to impose your will. You have to be who you are,” he continued. “I missed a step back, the next time Giannis (Antetokounmpo) was pressing and looking right at me, so I knew he was trying to get me the ball.
“Then I knew I had to play and I had to do it with confidence, and whatever happens, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t, and tonight it worked [in]”
Dame on the winner of her game and winning: “That’s when I know I have to play and live with whatever happens. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t, and tonight it did.
