Join us at the celebrated Taliesin Theater on the hill for the screening of the film “Frank Lloyd Wright: Phoenix from the Ashes”, with a special session of questions and answers with the filmmaker, Dr. Sigrid Faltin.
The document says the life of Frank Lloyd Wright (1867–1959), the most celebrated American architect with an unknown film. Frank Lloyd Wright was a genius, autopromot, admired teacher and unsuccessful businessman. Thanks to the Guggenheim and Fallingwater museum, the house built on the waterfall and created architectural icons. Over the past 70 years, he designed over 1,000 buildings, of which 500 were implemented. In July 2019, eight of these structures were marked as UNESCO World Heritage sites. “I am the greatest architect he has ever lived” – it is said that he once boasted. “At the beginning of my life I had to choose between honest arrogance and hypocritical humility: I chose the first one and I saw no reason to change.” He did not know the compromise in his professional or private life. Behind this was a sensitive and cordial person who never leaned with social morality, but who sought and found his ethics in nature. For him, the house should look like it has grown out of the surroundings. Today we call it “ecological architecture”. Wright is an architectural genius whose life can be a feature film. He survived scandals, murders, fires, divorces, bankruptcies and social contempt. Time and again it was created like a phoenix of ashes.
The performance time is 53 minutes, and then questions and answers with the filmmaker, Dr. Sigrid Faltin.
