Lake of the Woods (LOW) is incredibly enormous, spanning more than 1,485 square miles, 25 times larger than Lake Winnebago—and much more elaborate, with 14,000 rocky islands and 3,800 miles of shoreline it shares with Minnesota.
The lake is home to a growing fishery of smallmouth bass, walleye, northern pike, perch, and muskie. Deeper areas such as Clearwater Bay are home to lake trout.
