Following the family steps: the de pere track star Andrew Cartier went to the Naval Academy

De Pere (NBC 26) – Last year, at the High School in De Pere, they organized the day of signing Aiden Cartier, because Star Redbirds Track went to the Naval Academy.

Now, a year later, his brother Andrew, a colleague of the song, follows in the footsteps.

“To be able to give my country, as my grandfather did, I think it means a lot,” said Andrew about his grandfather, Paweł, who was also in the navy and served in Vietnam.

Initially, Andrew was not sure if the Naval Academy was for him, but when he went with Aiden during a visit to Annapolis, he knew it was the right fit.

“Every time I was there for his things, I realized that it was such a nice place and the possibilities are unlimited there,” said Andrew. “Finally, when I once came to me talking to trainers and the like, I knew that I wanted to be there.”

Last Friday, he was officially admitted to the Naval Academy, and Randy Soquet, his main coach at De Pere, will not have a problem running the next generation of sailors or marine infantry soldiers.

“One of the features that I love in this kid is that he strives for perfection,” said Soquet. “He strives for perfection, trains children around him to be the best.”

Last year, Andrew actually took home the state title in Triple Jump, beating his older brother Aiden, who took second place.

“None of us really cared about who won,” said Andrew. “I think that the goal at the beginning of the season was to go to the first and second.

They both divide the brotherly bond, and now they will be friends from the team on the track and serving their country. Andrew says it still doesn’t seem true.

“That he would almost end the first year, which is to be the worst year, I know that time will fly when I will be there,” said Andrew. It will definitely be hard. But I just know that it will come really quickly and I’m excited from it. “

“You can only see that this season on the track for Andrew is a little different without Aiden here and I think they intend to bring out the best of themselves and it will be an amazing dynamics for their team,” said their mother, Melissa Cartier.
