According to Forbes, Milwaukee and Kohler are the best places to visit in 2020.
Milwaukee made the list The 25 Best Places to Visit in the United States Next YearMadison journalist Mary Bergin (writing for the Journal Sentinel) chose Milwaukee for the list in part because the city is hosting the 2020 Democratic National Convention. The article also lists some of the city’s water attractions, including kayaking and cruising on the downtown rivers, strolling along Bradford Beach, dining with a waterfront view at the Harbor House and enjoying festivals like Summerfest on the lakefront.
Milwaukee landed on numerous “best” travel lists ahead of the DNC, including those in the Wall Street Journal and Airbnb. The New York Times also visited the city as part of its 36-hour travel series.
Three other Midwestern destinations also made the Forbes list: Indiana, where the article noted that Indiana Dunes became the nation’s 61st national park in February; St. Louis, in part because of Gateway Arch National Park, which recently reopened after a $380 million renovation; and the Ozarks, “one of the fastest-growing resort regions in the country,” the article said.
Kohler has been named to the Forbes Travel Guide list Top 20 Destinations for 2020international list including destinations from Tokyo to Macau.
“You’ve probably never heard of this small town an hour north of Milwaukee,” the article about Kohler states, noting that you will when the Ryder Cup begins at Kohler Co.’s Whistling Straits course in September 2020.
