Heading to Chicago White Sox catcher Omar Narvaez. He spent the 2020-2022 seasons with the Brewers, was an All-Star in 2021 and was initially acquired via trade with the Seattle Mariners in a deal that included RHP Adam Hill and cash. Following his tenure with the Brewers, Narvaez signed a two-year, $15 million contract with the New York Mets, but injuries and impoverished performance ultimately led to his release last summer.

Omar Narvaez will be a depth option for the Chicago White Sox

The rebuilding White Sox will target Omar Narvaez as a depth option in 2025. They currently have Korey Lee and Matt Thaiss on the 40-man roster, but they traded for elite catcher prospect Edgar Quero earlier in the offseason. If the catcher goes down, it’s likely the White Sox will call on Narvaez to replace him.

After hitting .233/.318/.350 in three seasons with the Brewers, Omar Narvaez’s hit line dropped to .192/.254/.259 with the New York Mets. It’s possible the once-talented offensive catcher will bounce back in 2025, but to stay in the huge leagues again, he’ll need to return to form defensively as well.
