Maker told ESPN Olgun Uluc On May 1, he announced that Basketball Australia would not bar him from playing for his home country of South Sudan.

FIBA authorization is required for this move. A change of country is permitted if it is “in the interest of the development of basketball” in the fresh country according to Article 3-22 of the FIBA ​​Internal Regulations.
