The revised wolf plan released by the Wisconsin DNR on August 1 notifies the public that there is room for at least 1,200 timber wolves in the state. This number is now… an expectation. Or tips. In other words, where the DNR expects to maintain the wolf population in the state. This number is also far from the population goal of 350 wolves or less sought by the Wisconsin Wildlife Federation (WWF), Conservation Congress and more than 25 county boards in northern Wisconsin.
