This offseason, the Wisconsin Badgers have been busy figuring out next year’s roster through the transfer portal. Wisconsin has found players in the quarterback position and they will want to repair the squad in other positions as well.
One player who was in the transfer portal was former Ohio State Buckeyes wide receiver Jayden Ballard. Ballard spent the last four seasons at Ohio State.
Former Ohio State Buckeyes wide receiver Jayden Ballard plays for the Wisconsin Badgers
Ballard has played for the Buckeyes for the past four seasons, but hasn’t had much production with them. On Wednesday according to Evan Flood from 247sports, the former Buckeyes wide receiver has committed to play for the Wisconsin Badgers next season.
Jayden Ballard he caught two passes for 18 yards and zero touchdowns, and averaged 9.0 yards per reception. He will look to make an impact at Wisconsin in 2025. He is 5’10” tall and weighs 600 pounds. His best season came in 2022, when he had eight receptions for 155 yards and one touchdown and averaged 19.4 yards per catch this season.

Why? The Badgers never have a QB that will take them to the top. They have a great running game and defense, but they need a real QB to compete for a national championship.

Basically, all Pauling photos will go to Trech and CJs will go to Ballard. I’m fine with that

That’s why I don’t worry when players transfer from Wisconsin, there are always guys that will transfer there. I will miss Pauling, but the wheels are turning and they seem to have done well with Jayden Ballard, a former top 5 WR recruit in the country.

No. 247, when he committed to OSU while still in high school, said he was potentially a “second- or third-round draft prospect.”
Reality? 4 years at OSU:
11 receptions, 177 yards, 0 TDs, 1 fumble (but recovered by OSU).

It will be interesting to see how much time he spends with the Wisconsin Badgers next season. If it doesn’t make a big impact, it’s just another element of the program.
