The Wisconsin Badgers lost a commitment in their 2025 recruiting class from a three-star athlete who plays on both ends of the court.
Cameron Miller, a three-star winger and defenseman from New Jersey, announced he will be leaving the team Wisconsin Badgersand will become available for recruitment again.
Miller had previously announced his commitment to the Badgers and stopped recruiting altogether, but after five and seven seasons in which they were recruiting, he decided to change his potential future path. Miller has recently been closely associated with the Kentucky Wildcats, for whom he was expected to operate the athlete as a winger, and Miller is currently the favorite to land with the Wildcats after announcing his decision for Wisconsin.

In his announcement, Miller asked if fans could “respect his decision”, and the winger also thanked coaches Luke Fickell and coach Kenny Guiton for their endless support during his recruitment. Both Fickell and Guiton were responsible for recruiting Miller, who was one of many wide receivers in the Badgers’ 2025 class.
Miller will be available again just hours before signing day, which means his decision will likely be an indication that the receiver already has another program in mind.
The Wisconsin Badgers are hours away from a messy signing day for WR Cameron Miller
Miller is just one of many players who have made the decision to leave the Wisconsin Badgers’ 2025 recruiting class after kicker Erik Schmidt announced he would forgo his commitment to Notre Dame.
However, the differences between Miller and Schmidt seem clear, as Schmidt was offered a full scholarship to attend Notre Dame as opposed to a half scholarship to attend Wisconsin. The Badgers later converted Schmidt to a full scholarship player after the semester, but Notre Dame’s offer was simply too good to pass up.
Miller appears to be the solution for Kentucky, which offered the recruit both more playing time and a potentially easier path to the NFL, which led to his decision to end his relationship with Wisconsin. Miller previously stated that playing in the NFL was his “dream” and something that also required the right program.
Admittedly, the talented athlete will face a tough loss in the Wisconsin Badgers’ 2025 recruiting class, but there is still plenty of talent in the class that is expected to sign a letter of intent in the coming days. The loss of Miller is unfortunate, however, but in addition to the other talent that will emerge in this class, Wisconsin will certainly also add a receiving room via the transfer portal when it opens on December 9.
