‘I knew it would take some time’ – Former Wisconsin Badgers star Zack Baun is 100% sincere about earning his first career Pro Bowl selection

The Wisconsin Badgers will be well represented in the upcoming Pro Bowl as four of their former players are on the roster.

Former Wisconsin Badgers defensemen Zack Baun and Andrew Van Ginkel are part of the NFC roster, representing the Philadelphia Eagles and Minnesota Vikings, respectively. TJ Watt and Jonathan Taylor will represent the Pittsburgh Steelers and Indianapolis Colts on the AFC squad.

Upon hearing this news, Zack Baun felt recognized for all the challenging work he had put in over the years.

“It’s about development. I didn’t come into the league knowing I would be good as a centre-back. I knew it would take some time. Sometimes there were difficult moments, but I kept my head down and kept working. Baun said recently, via Reuben Frank of NBC Sports Philadelphia.

“When I was in New Orleans, I put in the time, I put in as much work as the starters,” he continued. “Just to prepare for a moment like this, my chance.” And all I had to do was take advantage and just let it flow.

Product of the Wisconsin Badgers Zack Baun is enjoying his first full season with the Philadelphia Eagles. The 28-year-old recorded 151 tackles, 11 of which were for loss, 3.5 sacks, one interception, four pass breakups, five forced fumbles and five quarterback hits. Among off-ball linebackers, Baun is first in forced fumbles, second in tackles and fifth in tackles for loss.

Zack Baun, who played for the Wisconsin Badgers from 2015 to 2019, is the first Philadelphia Eagles position player to earn a Pro Bowl nomination in his first year with the team since Donovan McNabb in 2000 and the first linebacker since Bill Bradley in 1971.
