The Wisconsin Badgers are 5-6 this season after Saturday’s loss to the Nebraska Cornhuskers. Wisconsin is in danger of missing a bowl game this season, marking Luke Fickell’s second season as head coach.
One of the biggest issues for the Badgers this season is their quarterback play. One of the top quarterbacks they are looking at in the 2025 class is Carter Smith.
Carter Smith is committed to the Wisconsin Badgers after finishing his career with the Michigan Wolverines
On Sunday it was announced that Carter Smith will play for the Wisconsin Badgers next season after deciding to leave the Michigan Wolverines earlier in the year. Smith is a 6-foot-1, 185-pound point guard from Fort Myers, Florida.
There were several other schools he considered after he decided to leave Michigan. This is a huge win for the Wisconsin Badgers program, and given the way Braedyn Locke has played this season, there is a chance that Carter Smith will be able to start the modern season at Wisconsin as a freshman.

Wisconsin has definitely fixed a major hole that has plagued them the last few seasons with their commitment.

It’s probably true that Smith could be the Badgers’ starting quarterback right now. In addition to this substantial news, they will face the Minnesota Golden Gophers in the final week of the 2024 college football season. Hopefully, Smith will bring some featherlight to the Badgers offense in the coming years.
