Recently, Jon Morosi reported that the former Milwaukee Brewers player is receiving interest from an American League West player, which may open up a spot at third base for him.

According to Jon Morosi, the Houston Astros are interested in potentially signing Willy Adames, who will play third base. Jon Morosi specifically mentioned this as a backup plan in case Alex Bregman didn’t opt out of them. Alex Bregam spent his entire nine-year career with the Astros, won two World Series, is a two-time All-Star, won a Gold Glove Award and a Silver Slugger.

During an MLB Network segment, Jon Morosi said he would love an Astros infield consisting of Willy Adames at third base, Jeremy Pena at shortstop and Jose Altuve at second base. According to Baseball Savant, Adames has scored better in both reach and arm strength than Pena this year, but Fangraphs rated Pena better in DRS than Adames (+7 vs. -16).
