In their latest proposal, the Milwaukee Bucks are trading Khris Middleton to the Golden State Warriors in exchange for a massive transfer

The Milwaukee Bucks something else needs to be done. They know it. Everyone knows it. AND according to Brian Windhorst of ESPN, head coach Doc Rivers is looking at making some significant changes to the lineup. “There are rumors starting to emerge that Doc Rivers is looking to make changes to some of his key pieces,” Windhorst recently said on ESPN.

“Not Dame or Giannis, but we are potentially looking at another move they could make to change their team. I think they could be active in the upcoming trade market. I think it’s less likely than Philadelphia or New York that they’ll make such a big move, but don’t forget about Milwaukee.

As Windhorst notes, the Bucks do not intend to trade either of their two biggest starters, Damian Lillard and Giannis Antetokounmpo. However, it appears that everyone else on the roster is, at least in Milwaukee’s opinion, expendable on the trade market.

An NBA analyst suggests that the Milwaukee Bucks traded Khris Middleton to the Golden State Warriors

Of course, one of the better players on the Bucks’ roster is three-time All-Star forward Khris Middleton. Taking into account Lillard and Giannis’ absence or few losses in the last postseason loss, Middleton averaged 24.7 points, 9.2 rebounds and 4.7 assists per game.

Middleton has also been one of the Bucks’ biggest postseason heroes over the years. In the 2021 NBA Finals, he averaged 24.0 points, 6.3 rebounds and 5.3 assists per game, which included 40 points.

He also has two years remaining on the three-year, $102 million contract he signed before the season. If the Bucks acquired him, Middleton would receive a hefty price tag.

And that’s exactly what it is Bleacher ReportTeammate Allen Stiles believes the Warriors would be willing to pay:

“If you did Wiggins and Moody for Khris Middleton and if they wanted someone else, I don’t know if they would want Underworld, someone like that. And I know that many people have a soft spot for Underground.

“…Here’s one more thing about the Warriors [the decision on] whether you make a big move or a small move. And it is too [the question of]“Will Klay stay or not?” Right, because if Klay isn’t going to stay, I think we need to start paying attention to the guards.

“If Klay stays, it changes the situation and I think that matters. You’ve got Khris Middleton for Wiggins, Moody and whoever they want to add.

On the surface, this trade may seem to make some sense. After all, Wiggins is a former NBA Rookie of the Year and one-time All-Star. However, there are a few things wrong with this trade.

Will Milwaukee Bucks [Probably] Don’t trade Khris Middleton

A gigantic portion of Bucks fans dislike Middleton and were dismayed that Milwaukee re-signed him last year. They cite his injuries and several needy postseason performances prior to the NBA Finals as the reason for their stance on him.

This group conveniently forgets that the Bucks wouldn’t have won the title without Middleton, who was the team’s best player when Giannis went down with a hyperextended knee. They also look at the fact that Middleton led Milwaukee to two wins in a losing streak against the Indiana Pacers.

Beyond that, however, there is an issue with the package the Bucks would receive in return. Wiggins just finished his worst statistical season of his career. In the 2023/24 season, he averaged 13.2 points, 4.5 rebounds and 1.7 assists. He also shot 35.8% from three, which is generally good, but he shot at least 38% of his threes in the three previous seasons.

In other words, he’s a sinking star and the Bucks don’t need him.
