Total time thirty minutes

Calories 530 kcal

  • 1 pound 90% lean ground beef
  • 8 ounces Delicatessen Corned Beef
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon granulated garlic
  • 8 ounces sauerkraut drained
  • 4 Slices of Swiss cheese
  • 4 Spoon Thousand Island dressing
  • 4 hamburger buns

COOKING:

  • Combine ground beef, pepper and garlic in a huge bowl, mixing lightly but thoroughly. Lightly form into four 1/2-inch-thick patties.

  • Place the patties on a rack over medium, ash-covered coals. Grill, covered, for 8 to 10 minutes (over medium-high heat on a preheated gas grill, 7 to 9 minutes) until an instant-read thermometer inserted horizontally into the center reads 160°F, turning occasionally. About 2 minutes before the burgers are baked, place the buns on the grid, cut side down. Grill until lightly browned. In the last minute of grilling, place a slice of cheese on each burger.

  • Cook’s tip: To prepare the dish on the stovetop, heat a huge non-stick frying pan over medium heat until heated. Place patties in pan; cook 12 to 15 minutes or until an instant-read thermometer is inserted horizontally into the center registers of 160°F, rotating occasionally.

TEST KITCHEN TIPS
Cooking times are for fresh or fully thawed ground beef. Ground beef should be cooked to an internal temperature of 160°F. Color is not a reliable indicator of doneness of ground beef.
