Milwaukee Bucks guard AJ Green has yet to dunk in an NBA game, and the closest he came to doing so came during the team’s 121-105 victory over the San Antonio Spurs on Wednesday.
In the second quarter, the Northern Iowa player got aid from Taurean Prince, and since he was alone in the colors, Green stepped up and put the ball in the basket. Does this count as a dunk?? It depends on who you ask and you may be the judge.
If you ask Giannis Antetokounmpo, AJ Green’s finish shouldn’t be considered a dunk because he barely touched the rim.
“It wasn’t a dunk. He’s here – it was like fingernails. NO. NO. Like back then (sighs) I thought, “Oh come on, AJ, this is your chance.” But he’ll get it. He will play in the league for many years and will have the opportunity to score dunks, he added. Antetokounmpo explained via Jim Owczarski of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.
AJ Green of the Milwaukee Bucks said it wasn’t a dunk
Various Milwaukee Bucks players had different opinions about AJ Green’s dunk attempt, but according to the man himself, Green said he didn’t count it as a dunk.
As of this writing, AJ Green has yet to record his first official NBA dunk in 124 games with the Milwaukee Bucks.
As for Wednesday night, AJ Green performed well in the win over the San Antonio Spurs, as he did earlier 14 points and four three-pointers after shooting 5 of 9 from the field in 25 minutes off the bench.
