‘It was my dream’: Neenah football star Grant Dean commits to Wisconsin

NEENAH, Wis. (NBC 26) – Neenah football star Grant Dean, a unanimous All-Fox Valley Association first-team selection on both offense and defense last season, has committed to play college football at Wisconsin.

Dean, a three-star recruit and No. 11 in the state’s 2025 player of the year rankingsannounced his involvement on social media on Wednesday.

Last season as a junior, Dean rushed for 1,774 yards and 25 touchdowns. He also recorded 36 tackles and two defensive interceptions, helping Neenah advance to the third tier of the WIAA playoffs.

Dean said he would start as a safety for the Badgers.

Dean, a three-sport athlete, was a starter on Neenah’s state-qualifying basketball team last winter. As a sophomore last season, he was also a stalwart of the Neenah track and field team that won the state championship in the 4×400-meter relay.

In addition to football, Dean said he hopes to run track at Wisconsin. He said he is also exploring the possibility of graduating from Neenah early and enrolling at UW in January 2025.
