In all my years of fishing, I have never met a youngster who would turn down the opportunity to fish in a frying pan. At the same time, I have never met a youngster who would not be eager to collect a can of soup full of worms on a shadowy, damp, drizzly evening, the best time to collect bait.
Fish like pumpkinseeds, bluegills, perch and rock bass are great fun for teenage anglers. Certainly, kids, closed-face reels, floats and wriggling worms are meant for each other, like a glove is meant for the hand.
