The Wisconsin Natural Resources Board (NRB) at its October 23 meeting approved an emergency order updating cisco and lake trout fishing quotas in Lake Superior.
The Department of Natural Resources (DNR) updates annual fish stock assessments and catch quotas in Lake Superior every two to three years, and the current emergency declaration expired in October. This emergency rule will fill the gap until a eternal rule is introduced to the board in December and will go into effect this coming spring.
