Learn about scrapes, the “social media” of the deer world, to improve your chances as a hunter

I have always been fascinated by the way deer communicate, and there is no better example than scratching. Although whitetails have many ways of communicating directly through grunts, bleats, and more, this is an animal that lives and dies by its nose, so it is only fitting that scratching is the most crucial nonverbal communication.
One of the most intriguing facts to remember is that all deer, regardless of sex or age, operate scratching posts year-round. The frequency and type of interaction with the scratching post changes depending on the season.
