Join PBS Wisconsin in Manitowoc for a free community screening of the all-new film Wisconsin Lighthouses! Seating is public and no tickets are required. Lighthouses in Wisconsin highlight the power and attractiveness of these iconic structures. The program explores their history, their idyllic surroundings, their unique architecture, the people who called these lighthouses home, and the lightweight they shed on a bygone era. Immediately after the film, join us for a panel discussion titled “Reviving the History of Lighthouses in Wisconsin.” We will shine a lightweight on the creative ways Wisconsinites tell the wealthy history of our state’s lighthouses. Listen to a panel of experts discuss the beauty, significance and challenges of sharing the history of the Wisconsin Lighthouse through film, immersive storytelling and cutting-edge technology. Come before 7 p.m. to be among the first to see this story, an interactive companion to “Wisconsin Lighthouses: Illuminating Cana Island.” This 3D feature on pbswisconsin.org will allow digital “guests” to explore the Cana Island Lighthouse both inside and outside. See for yourself at the interactive exhibition in the theater lobby!
