Local area youth trapshooters were selected to the Wisconsin 2021 All State Trapshooting Team.
Sub-Junior All State Team (under 15 years of age), from Berlin, Captain R.J. Gropp 93.24% This is RJ’s fourth time being selected to the Wisconsin All State Team (2018, 2019, 2020, and 2021).
This year RJ was also selected to the 2022 ATA (Amateur Trapshooting Association) Sub-Junior All American Team. Only 25 Sub-Junior in the nation are selected for this team.
From Omro, Lillian Longworth 88.77% This is Lillian’s second time being selected to the Wisconsin All State Team (2020 and 2021). Lillian was also selected to the Sub-Junior 2021 AIM (Academics, Intergrity, Marksmanship) Central All Zone Team. The Central Zone is made up of 10 states plus Manitoba and Saskatchewan. Only ten trapshooters make up the Central All Zone Team, and Lillian was one of those.
Junior All State Team (15 to under 18 years of age), from Wautoma, Brady Nyhuis 90.82%. This is Brady’s first time on the Junior All State Team, Brady was also selected to the Junior 2021 AIM All State Team.
These youthful trapshooters all shoot with Berlin Target Terminators, a youth trapshooting team of the Berlin Conservation Club.
In order to qualify for the Wisconsin All State Team, you must shoot in the Wisconsin State Shoot Championship, hosted by the Wisconsin Trapshooting Association which is held at the WTA Shooting Complex and Learning Center in Rome, WI. The shooters must shoot in all events, Singles, Doubles and Handicap.
Also, you must shoot in a Wisconsin Zone Shoot (all events) and at least one local club shoot (all events).
You must list titles won and scores obtained at the ATA’s World Trapshooting Grand American Championships, held at the World Shooting and Recreation Complex in Sparta, IL.
Then, you must list scores you obtained at ATA Zone Shoots and Satellite Grand Shoots and other shoots in or out of state (Iowa, Illinois, etc.).
Finally, you must write a tiny essay on what you consider to be your most crucial accomplishments of the year and then list noteworthy activities connected with trapshooting.
As you can see it is not an uncomplicated task being selected to be one of five on the All State Team.
