Ryan and his wife Brianna started RippView Ridge with the goal of growing crops, raising cattle and raising a fresh generation of kids in the farming industry.
Ryan Ripp grew up in the diminutive village of Dane, Wisconsin, helping his extended family raise dairy heifers and fatten bulls. As a youth, he watched the volunteer fire department battle a grass fire on his family’s farm, which fueled his desire to serve the community.
After graduating from college with a degree in animal science, he met his wife, Brianna, and they started RippView Ridge Farm with the desire to “raise crops, cattle, and the next generation of farm children.” The Ripps manage the cow operation, building genetics into their herd when their children, now two and five, can start arriving.
Brianna, who grew up on a dairy farm, also manages the direct marketing side of the business, selling quarters and halves to the local community. A family’s commitment to service is not narrow to the fire station. Brianna is a board member of the Wisconsin 4-H Foundation, and Ryan serves on local boards and organizations at the Lodi Agricultural Fair, the Wisconsin Corn Promotion Board and the Farm Bureau. If that wasn’t enough, Ryan also serves farmers as the regional director for Dairyland Seed.
“The producers in our community help each other out,” Ryan said. “Everyone is genuine, honest and willing to help, and I love being a part of that.”
Ryan enjoys networking, learning from his neighbors, and sharing information. He enjoys reaching out to the community, especially children, through the annual Fire Department Open House and Kids Fire Safety Week. His dedication to the community inspires others to get involved and give back.
