Former Milwaukee Brewers goalie Mike Brosseau he reportedly signed with a National League West team. Brosseau, who last played in the substantial leagues in 2023, will be looking to return, while the Milwaukee player initially opted out to be acquired via trade in 2021 is currently on the 40-man roster elsewhere.
Mike Brosseau has reportedly signed with the San Diego Padres
Joe Rosen, agent for Icon Sports Management, confirmed that Mike Brosseau has signed with the San Diego Padres. While contract details have not been released, considering Brosseau spent last season in the minor leagues with both the Royals and Mets, it is likely that it is a minor league deal.
Congratulations to the customer @mikebrosseau10 when signing the contract with @Parents!

How did the Milwaukee Brewers acquire Mike Brosseau in 2021?
In November 2021, the Brewers and Tampa Bay Rays agreed to a deal that sent Mike Brosseau to the Midwest and prospect Evan Reifert to the South. Brosseau split his time between the major and minor leagues during his two years with the Brew Crew and ultimately received the opportunity to play in Japan in 2023. He returned to the United States last year and began his career in the Mets farm system to the tune of an .809 OPS with 15 home runs in 93 Triple-A games.
Evan Reifert was selected in the Rule 5 draft this year by the Washington Nationals
Two former Milwaukee Brewers pitchers were selected in this year’s Rule 5 draft. Shane Smith was the first player acquired by the Chicago White Sox, and Evan Reifert was later acquired by the Nationals. Reifert has great swing-and-miss skills, especially with the slider, but will need to master control to be successful at the MLB level in 2025.
