The Milwaukee Brewers will be one of the teams to watch during this game 2025 MLB Draft because they could have five picks within the top 80 selections. The exact order of the draft is yet to be determined, but here we take a look at how the Beer Crew could be in a prime position to add an stimulating novel group of players.
The 20th overall pick will go to the Milwaukee Brewers, but the rest has yet to be determined
The Brewers are poised to make five potential picks among the top 80 in the 2025 MLB Draft, and their first-round pick will be 20th overall. Therefore, there is a high probability that they will receive a compensation pick immediately after the first round, which will be due to Willy Adames signing a long-term contract with another club. Additionally, they have selections in the A and B rounds of the Competitive Balance, as well as a second-round pick.
How did the Milwaukee Brewers manage to get picks in both the A and B rounds of competitive balance?
The 10 lowest revenue clubs and clubs in the 10 smallest markets are eligible to receive a Competitive Balance selection. All qualifying teams are assigned a selection in Round A or Round B of Competitive Balance. This year, brewers were awarded the first pick in Round A of the Competitive Balance. They also receive a selection in Round B of Competitive Balance due to 2024 draft pick Chris Levonas he chose to attend Wake Forest University rather than sign up to play professionally.
It’s possible the Milwaukee Brewers will have three picks in the top 35
After taking into account penalties from the luxury tax bill and projected equalization elections, brewers could finish 20th, 29th and 33rd overall. This alone will give Milwaukee plenty of opportunity to add some stimulating prospects, but it becomes even more stimulating when you realize that their second-round draft pick will likely be around 60th overall, and their competitive Balance B pick somewhere in 70’s.
So when you distribute them, it *might* look like this:

The 2025 MLB Draft is July 13-15, but it’s stimulating to think about the amount of talent the Brewers could amass in a class considered highly talented in the draft.
