In a hugely decisive series, the Milwaukee Brewers began a three-game series against the Chicago Cubs with hopes of continuing their lead in first place in the National League Central division. Milwaukee won Game 1 5-1, and the Cubs won Game 2 of the series 6-3. In the final game, with the series tied at one game each, the Brewers scored seven runs in the first three innings to tie the game. 10-6 victory and series victory.
Milwaukee leaves this series with a record of 32-23. They lead the National League Central division by four and a half games. After losing this series, the Cubs are now 28-28. Now Chicago and St. The Louis Cardinals are in second place in the division. The Brewers have a must-win series next up as they take on the worst team in the American League in the Chicago White Sox.
Milwaukee Brewers Great 10-6 win over the Cubs
In the bottom of the first inning, Brewers left fielder Christian Yelich smashed a two-run home run to right-center field to give Milwaukee an early lead. In the next half of the inning, Cubs left fielder Ian Happ hit a solo shot to right field, reducing the Brewers’ deficit. In the bottom of the third inning, Cubs third baseman Christoper Morel was robbed of a home run by Brewers center fielder Blake Perkins. The Brewers scored five runs in the bottom of the third.
Third inning Brewers Solid Five-Run
First, Brewers shortstop Willy Adames put an RBI single into right field. On the next at-bat, Milwaukee catcher Gary Sánchez hit the left field wall twice to give the Brewers a 5-1 lead. Two batters later, Blake Perkins hit a home run to left-center field. Milwaukee was already leading 7-1.
Chicago will try to come back in this game. In the top of the fourth inning, Cubs shortstop Dansby Swanson hit an RBI groundout to make it 7-2. An inning later, Cubs center fielder Cody Bellinger homered Mike Tauchman. Patrick Wisdom was then hit by the ball, allowing Chicago to go home and the score was 7-4.
Brewers take home the victory
Christian Yelich scored another run in the bottom of the seventh period when he hit an RBI groundout. A few batters later, Willy Adames hit a two-run home run to left-center field to make it 10-4. For Chicago, in the top of the ninth, the run was successful after Christopher Morel reached base on an error and then Ian Happ hit a sacrifice fly. It wouldn’t be enough to erase the Brewers’ huge lead, as the Brewers won 10-6.
Brewers starting pitcher Bryse Wilson threw four innings, allowing three runs on six hits and two walks, while striking out only one batter. Both Christian Yelich and Willy Adames came away with three RBIs. Gary Sánchez and Blake Perkins each had two RBIs in the win. Can this offense stay scorching in the series against the White Sox?
