Milwaukee Brewers are less than a week from the start of the 2025 MLB season in the opening series of the weekend with New York Yankees. And although it is invigorating to return to baseball in the regular season, the breweries will enter this year with a much lower initial depth than they expected.
DL Hall, which Milwaukee purchased together with Joey Ortiz in the trade of Corbin Burnes, is on a 60-day injury list due to injury. Aaron Ashby and Tobias Myers suffered oblique strains and will not be ready for the beginning of the season.
And these injuries do not even cover Robert Gasser, who recovers after Tommy John’s surgery and will not be able to join the team by August.
As a result, the first three starters for brewers this year will be Freddy Peralta, Nestor Cortes and Aaron Civale. But after them he becomes a bit murky.
Milwaukee breweries do not have a well initial rotation

Last season, Brewers used 17 different initial brootters. Some of them are “openers”, aid brokers who started the game, but threw only one or two other innings.
Unfortunately, it seems that Milwaukee will have to operate this kind of games at the beginning of 2025.
Jose Quintana, who was signed for spring training, is not ready to throw the amount of rounds needed from Starter. He may need a longer spring training to facilitate him boost.
Brandon WoodruffHe will not be ready for the start of the season either. After the lack of a majority of 2023 and all 2024 due to shoulder injury, it still approaches. Fortunately, he was able to appear in games, and his arm recoved nicely after each trip.
And he can return to Milwaukee earlier than expected.
Brandon Woodruff may soon return to Milwaukee breweries

According to Brewers Insider, Adam McCalvy, Woodruff threw two rounds of a league match on Thursday. His fastball reached 95 miles per hour again, showing that both he and the team were looking for consistent speed.
McCalvy announced that ALL-Star would go from Milwaukee to New York twice for the opening weekend. Then he will go with the rest of the brewers at home, where he will throw a simulated game. If everything goes well with it, Woodruff will return to Phoenix to continue the boost in strength.
In other words, he could return to initial rotation earlier than expected.
And this is good news for brewers’ rotation, which suddenly has no pitchers.
In seven seasons from Milwaukee Woodruff has 46-26 with Era 3.10.
