The Milwaukee Breweries sent a group of seven players to their convoluted in Arizona to stay in good shape in case they were needed in the postseason. There are four pitchers and three position players in this group. Who are the seven players the Milwaukee Brewers sent to their Arizona convoluted?
For Adam McCalvy on MLB.com pitchers Bryan Hudson, Elvis Peguero, Jacob Misiorowski and Logan Henderson are in Arizona. The position players who reported were Vinny Capra, Brewer Hicklen and Tyler Black. McCalvy reported that Brewers assistant general manager Matt Kleine said the thought process behind it was: “We don’t want them to come home, and then all of a sudden it was, ‘Oh, wait, we need you.'”
Bryan Hudson could make the starting lineup in the postseason even though he hasn’t pitched in the major leagues since Sept. 2.
Rookie reliever Bryan Hudson has played a huge role in the Brewers bullpen this year. Not only has he thrown in plenty of high-leverage situations, but 24 of his 43 plate appearances this year have consisted of multiple innings. Despite his drop in velocity, he continued to produce positive results on the mound, but ended up throwing his most innings in a season since 2018; this was while he was still operating as a starting pitcher in the minor leagues.
Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reporter Curt Hogg spoke with manager Pat Murphy about Bryan Hudson. At the moment, everything indicates that he will not return to the Premier League club before the end of the regular season, but discussions are ongoing about his inclusion in the first team after the season.
It’s a growing reality that Bryan Hudson may not be called up this week, but Murphy has made it clear that they will consider putting him on the playoff roster without pitching in another regular-season game.
I asked how they would evaluate the “reset” attempt. Here’s what Murphy said: pic.twitter.com/8cXMQCnGxS
