The Milwaukee Brewers are currently in the process of assembling their coaching staff for the 2025 season, and we’ve already seen them make changes to their hitting coaches, promoting Al LeBoeuf and Eric Theisen while firing Ozzie Timmons. Now the team has confirmed that pitching coach Chris Hook has signed a multi-year contract with the team, but there are some concerns that first base coach Quintin Berry will not be hired.

Quintin Berry is “not expected” to return for the 2025 season
From Adam McCalvy of MLB.com write a description of signing a contract with Chris Hook he briefly mentioned the status of several other Brewers coaches. McCalvy wrote: “One coach the Brewers won’t be able to keep is Quintin Berry, a highly regarded first base coach who has played a starring role in league-leading baserunning in Milwaukee.” Berry joined the Brewers coaching staff immediately after retiring in 2018 and is the first base coach since 2021.
Major League coaching contracts expire after October 31st. This gives the Brewers a few days to potentially work out a deal with Quintin Berry, but reports currently indicate he will not return for the 2025 season.
