Milwaukee Brewers: Colin Rea Reveals Attitude During Epic Performance Against Cleveland Guardians

After being fired up by the Los Angeles Dodgers in the previous game, the Milwaukee Brewers pitcher Colin Rea rebounded and achieved a result that almost became historic.

Rea was squirting on the mound Sunday against the Cleveland Guardians, as he didn’t give up a single until the sixth inning. It wasn’t until Steven Kwan singled in the sixth inning that the Guardians finally got a hit from Rea.

“I knew the situation in the game when Kwan came out there for the third time in the sixth inning,” Rea said of that moment, according to Todd Rosiak of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.

“But there’s still a lot of game left at this point, so I’m still trying to strike out and get ahead. I ended up falling behind and he got a good barrel on that 3-1 pitch. It’s a close game at this point, so it’s just one batter at a time, one pitch at a time at this point.”

Despite losing the game without a hit, Rea continued to turn heads with his performance. He was replaced in the seventh inning, but not before allowing just two hits, no earned runs, and five strikeouts in 88 pitches. Bryan Hudson and Jared Koenig made sure Rea’s efforts didn’t go to waste, as they threw out all the hitters they faced to record a save and a save respectively in Victory 2-0Rea picked up his 11th win of the season and improved to a 3.52 ERA and 1.15 WHIP.

The Brewers are now 72-52 heading into their next series on the road against the St. Louis Cardinals at Busch Stadium.
