Bucknor was roundly criticized after the game.
CB Bucknor scored the first run of the game for the Oakland Athletics, starting a four-run inning.
The Milwaukee Brewers led 2-0 in the fourth inning. The first three Athletics players reached base on hits by Frankie Montas. Then in the seventh, CB Bucknor gifted the Athletics their first run of the game with a bases-loaded walk on a throw that caught a lot of the plate.
Umpire CB Bucknor gifted Ace a run on a walk with the bases loaded, which should have been called a strikeout.
Bucknor missed 20 whistles during the game, 15 of which were against the Brewers.

The Athletics then scored three more runs on a base hit and two RBI SAC flies. All four of Oakland’s points came in that inning to win by a point. CB Bucknor’s missed three-run shot was a key moment in the game.

On social media, several fans were not joyful about the missed call from CB Bucknor. The Minor Leagues are working on a challenge system and in this particular case, it would be nice if it was implemented to get the right call on the field.
