Milwaukee Brewers: Final 23 batters finished season without reaching base in series finale loss to Colorado Rockies

This Milwaukee Breweries They have had a bad start to September. On Sunday, they lost the series finale to the Colorado Rockies by a score of 4-1. Their offense once again stalled, and in this particular game, the last 23 Brew Crew batters were struck out without reaching base.

After the second inning, the Colorado Rockies dominated the Milwaukee Brewers.

Early in the game, the Brewers struck first when Rhys Hoskins hit a base hit with two outs that scored William Contreras. Hoskins was awarded the opportunity to drive a runner into scoring position thanks to a Rockies pitching error that had extended the first inning earlier.

After the Brewers got two hits in the first inning, their last hit of the game came in the second inning when Isaac Collins got his first MLB hit. Collins then stole second base but was left stranded as Andruw Monasterio was thrown out and Jackson Chourio fell while striking out.

The last 23 Milwaukee Brewers players have fallen without reaching base.

Unfortunately for the Brewers, Isaac Collins’ second-inning hit was the last base runner they had all game. The final 23 batters eventually fell without a walk as the Rockies went 1-2-3 from the third inning on. Milwaukee batters only struck out seven times in this game, but they struggled to generate any sedate contact with starter Kyle Freeland and were unable to get to the Rockies bullpen.

Hoby Milner hit a three-run home run in that game that changed the outcome of the game.

Brewers starting pitcher Freddy Peralta ran into trouble in the fifth inning of that game and was unable to get out. With two runners on base and two outs, Pat Murphy called the bullpen in the fifth inning and brought in left-handed hitter Hoby Milner to face left-handed hitter Sam Hilliard. The result was Hilliard hitting a three-run home run that gave Colorado a 4-1 lead.

The Milwaukee Brewers have had a tough start to September. They have lost four of their last five or, if you want to stretch it further, five of their first seven games this month. Their next games will be on the West Coast, where they will face the San Francisco Giants and Arizona Diamondbacks.

It is crucial that Milwaukee’s offense gets back to doing all the little things that have brought them success all season. Once they start hitting better and getting on base, they can start using their speed and strategically bunting to produce runs. Hopefully, the offense will get the hang of it soon as the Brewers are still fighting for a bye in the first round of the playoffs.
