The Milwaukee Brewers did it again. Against all odds, they won the National League Central Division title, and that happened before they even played the Philadelphia Phillies at home on Wednesday, when the Chicago Cubs lost to the Oakland Athletics at Wrigley Field that same night, 5-3.
Without a doubt, one of the biggest reasons the Brewers are the division’s kingpins is rising star Jackson Chourio, who isn’t even venerable enough to drink alcohol. Speaking of which, Chourio’s teammates made sure he had a drink to celebrate the team’s success.
This #Brewers are going to celebrate their NL Central title and they put a non-alcoholic beer in Jackson Chourio’s cart.

Despite being just 20 years venerable, Chourio has consistently proven his worth to the Brewers. In Milwaukee’s 2-1 win over the Brewers, Chourio went 1-for-4 and scored the game-winning run in the ninth inning on a single by first baseman Jake Bauers. So far in the 2024 NFL regular season, the youthful Venezuelan is slashing .273/.328/.472 with 21 home runs, 77 RBIs, and 20 stolen bases. He has a 121 OPS+ and 3.7 fWAR, which is third best in the team.
Jackson Chourio and the Milwaukee Brewers still have work to do
Despite winning the NL Central title again, the Brewers have reason to keep their foot on the gas. With a record of 88-64 and 10 games to play, the Brewers still have a chance to catch the Los Angeles Dodgers and Phillies for first place in the NL. The Brewers are just three games behind the Phillies and just one game behind the Dodgers.
The Brewers, who have won five of their last seven games, next host the Arizona Diamondbacks in a four-game series beginning Thursday night.
