Milwaukee Brewers list September 1 as the date we’ll find out if Christian Yelich will return or not

This Milwaukee Breweries placed Christian Yelich on the injured list July 24. From there, he went to a spine specialist and made the decision to rest and rehab his back injury with the goal of returning this season. Offseason surgery is still a possibility, but for now, his goal is to get back to playing baseball.

Pat Murphy has given September 1st as the date when it will be known whether Christian Yelich intends to return or not.

Christian Yelcih was the third in the lineup this year and he handled both right-handed and left-handed pitchers. His departure had a large impact on the lineup as he was on pace to hit 20+ home runs, 80+ RBI, possibly 40 stolen bases and was in contention for another batting title (.315 batting average). It is unknown how productive he will be if he returns but mentally it would be a large boost for the Brewers.
